Be Faster is a unique program designed to improve athletic function by improving force absorption and force production in the body.  We use next generation techniques that are proven to get World Class Results.  We do not train in a sport specific or any other fad mantra that is out there today.  Be Faster will catapult any athlete to their genetic potential because we train Movement Specific not sports specific.  

What “Be Faster” ISN’T…
  1. A run of the mill agility and plyo-metrics session that will tire you out without proven results
  2. A fad core session
  3. A generalized training program – “One size fits all”
  4. Sports specific

What “Be Faster ” IS…
  1. A combination of methodologies from new age Bio-mechanists that are proven to get improve all forms of movement
  2. Intended to address an individual’s current limitations in their movement patterns
  3. Utilization of proven speed and strength training to produce incredible results
  4. A program that can catapult any athlete because we target movement patterns not sports specific skills

This program will look and feel different than your average speed, agility, or plyo-metric programs.  Why?  Because it is different.  Do to the technicality of what is being done we are limited to 16 athletes per two-month session.  Athletes will perform a pre and post film evaluation of the movement patterns as well as a vertical jump test and fly 10m sprint (weather permitting).

A little more on Coach Lou Sponsel...

Lou Sponsel is the head football coach at William Fremd High School in Palatine, Illinois.  He is also the sprints coach for the track and field program.  As a co-owner and co-operator of CrossFit Pally, Lou has the opportunity to bring his coaching talents to the community and help athletes reach the next level of performance.

Lou’s former athletes include: Scott Tolzien (Green Bay Packers), Brian Bobek (Ohio State and Minnesota), Kenny Lyke (Michigan State), Christian Lombard (Notre Dame), Jack Konopka (Northwestern), and many more playing at higher levels in football and track.  He has trained and coached two All-Americans and several All-State athletes in football.  On the track, Lou has coached 8 state medalists in the sprints and 19 state qualifiers over the past five years.  His athletes have multiple school and conference records in the sprints and relays.

Lou received his Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in Exercise Science.  He also has his Bachelor’s degree from NIU in Physical Education.  While at NIU, Lou was a starter for the football team and then continued as a student assistant after playing.  

In 2009, Lou took over the sprint program at William Fremd High School.  Since then, his sprinters have broken four of the six school records multiple times.  His sprinters have also broken Mid-Suburban League records and been one of the top sprint groups in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.  In 2013, he was awarded “Assistant Coach of the Year” by the Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.

In addition to coaching and training athletes, Lou speaks at coaching clinics on “Running a speed based football program”.  He has written several articles in the area of speed and strength.
